Little Rider Co drums up its campaign to get more kids on bikes & looking like pros

Little Rider Co is on a mission to get kids cycling to the next level with its strengthened partnerships and expanded programs aimed at bringing the best technical clothing for kids on bikes.

Little Rider Co is out to redefine the tech wear industry as it scaled up its campaign to get more kids on bikes and get them looking like pros.

“Everything we do is to support our mission of getting more little riders riding and inspiring the pros of the future. Whether that be high-quality products, collaborations with like-minded brands, or online content to support our community,” says Mike Douglass, founder of Little Rider Co.

Mike says the idea of establishing a company dedicated to technical clothing for kids on bikes came into mind when his first son got into balance bikes and racing. 

“There are lots of great kids’ bike brands out there, but we struggled to find quality tech wear and bike safety protection for the little ones,” he explains.

Mike says many mainstream brands don’t cater well for ages 2-14. Hence the idea of putting out a company that fills that gaping hole came to fruition.

“We want to fill that space and found out that it’s the Little Riders parents that relate to this and want their kids to look and feel the part. We find that when the little riders feel confident, it boosts their enthusiasm for riding and progression,” he adds. 

Little Rider Co was launched in 2019, with its hero product being the technical jersey. It has since expanded into technical shorts, gloves, pants, and apparel. 

Now the brand takes pride in having over 100,000 little riders across the globe, and the number continues to grow. Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Little Rider Co sees the light at the end of the tunnel with summer coming.

Mike says Little Rider Co has stepped up efforts to work with companies that are aligned with its mission in supporting kids cycling.

“We find a lot of the cool brands and bike companies out there that make quality bikes or gear,” he stressed. “These companies don’t want the headache of designing and manufacturing technical bike wear for kids. That’s where we come in.”

Little Rider Co has already worked with great and impressive brands such as Prevelo Bikes, GT Malverns Classic, Hornit Bikes, and VPACE. 

In a bid to see more kids on bikes looking like pros, it has announced the launch of a collab jersey with BMX legend Bob Haro, founder of Haro Bikes and Freestyle BMX.

“This is our biggest and most exciting collab to date, and we are looking forward to x2 cool design minds colliding and creating “New School meets Old School,” he says.

Bob, touted as the ‘Father of Freestyle BMX Riding,” is a pioneer in the bike community and created what people know now as freestyle BMX in the ’80s. 

Looking ahead, Mike says the team behind Little Rider is also ramping up efforts to expand its tech clothing range, with the company hoping to release a jersey each quarter. 

“We are working hard to expand the product range and aiming to release a protection range for the little riders this year – we feel gear protection for kids cycling is another underserved area for ages 2-14,” he explains.

Little Rider Co also looks at expanding its collab program by working with more awesome brands, teams, and pros to get kids cycling to the next level.
